Adibus delivers 1,700 point-of-sale terminals to Movia

Adibus has entered into an agreement with the public transport authority Movia for the delivery of 1,700 point-of-sale terminals for use in buses across Zealand and the surrounding islands.

 

The delivery is part of Movia’s ongoing modernisation of its ticketing infrastructure in public transport and will support the transition to new, more flexible ticketing and payment solutions.

 

Intensive preparation by Adibus’ service team

At Adibus, the service team is currently operating at high capacity. Before the terminals can be put into operation, each unit undergoes a thorough preparation process.

 

This includes functional testing, configuration and setup to ensure that the equipment meets the requirements of the demanding bus operating environment, where vibration, temperature fluctuations and intensive daily use place high demands on robustness and operational reliability.

 

The terminals are therefore not only delivered, but fully configured and tested, enabling direct installation in buses and commissioning with minimal downtime. This preparation is essential to ensure stable operation in a daily context where thousands of transactions must be processed reliably.

 

Supporting new ticketing solutions in public transport

The delivery coincides with a broader transition of ticketing solutions in Danish public transport. Movia is in the process of phasing out the older physical Rejsekort and moving towards the Rejsekort app and the new Basic Card, which are based on newer technology and consolidate fare settlement digitally once per day.

 

The new point-of-sale terminals in the buses play an important role in this transition. They will support the issuance of cash tickets and the verification of tickets.
